Overview in one honest frame

Numbers need dates; narratives need humility.

Assemble assets and liabilities as of one day. Mixing timestamps blends optimism and pessimism into a smoothie that tastes like truth but isn’t. Liquidity matters: list what you could access quickly versus what requires process, penalties, or buyers.

Net worth is a slow indicator, not a daily mood ring. Short-term market noise can dominate monthly changes; annual comparisons often show clearer direction. Home values deserve conservative ranges; illiquid wealth is not spendable wealth mentally, even if spreadsheets sum them.

Pair net worth with monthly cash flow. A high balance sheet with tight monthly margins feels different from the same net worth with wide surplus—stress lives in the gap between income and obligations, not in a headline number alone.

Write a short narrative: what changed since last time, and what worries you without catastrophizing? Naming fear reduces fog; unnamed fear inflates it. This practice is educational reflection, not professional advice.
